At this study, the determination of the effects of heavy metals from industrial sources Cr, Cu, Ni, Fe, Zn on seed germination at 17 wheat Triticum aestivum genotype “Altay-2000”, “Altıntaş-95”, “Aytın-98”, “Bezostaja-1”, “Çetinel-2000”, “Gerek-79”, “Harmankaya-9”, “Kıraç”, Kırgız-95”, “Kunduru-1149”, “Kutluk-94”, “Kümbet-2000”, “Sönmez-2001”, “Sultan-95”, “Süzen-97”, “Yelken-2000” and “Yıldız-98” which are commonly produced at Turkey are aimed. The experiments were carried out in plant growth chambers. For each concentration in each experiment series 100 seeds were used in repetitions of four. Germination tests were performed with the four replicates in a Petri dish. For the duration of the experiments a constant temperature 22±1˚C and photo-period of 12 hours light, 12 hours darkness were maintained; and in 3 different concentrations of the heavy metals 100, 200 and 300 µM . According to all results, statistical importance of the effects of heavy metals at seed germination of inspected wheat types is seen. The zinc has the lowest; the copper has the highest effects on germination. When wheat genotypes compared with their sensitivity level to heavy metals, at 17 genotypes, the most sensitive type is “Kutluk-94” and the most durable type is “Kunduru-1149”. In a conclusion, it is found that the heavy metals can cause the loss of the product with obstruct the germination at wheat and at cultivated areas which are exposed to heavy metals pollution, to get high efficiency and the phytoremediation of this areas, “Kıraç” and “Kunduru-1149” types can be used
Bu çalışmada, endüstriyel kaynaklı ağır metallerin Cr, Cu, Ni, Fe, Zn ülkemizde yaygın olarak üretimi yapılan 17 buğday Triticum aestivum genotipi “Altay-2000”, “Altıntaş-95”, “Aytın-98”, “Bezostaja-1”, “Çetinel2000”, “Gerek-79”, “Harmankaya-9”, “Kıraç”, Kırgız-95”, “Kunduru-1149”, “Kutluk-94”, “Kümbet-2000”, “Sönmez2001”, “Sultan-95”, “Süzen-97”, “Yelken-2000” ve “Yıldız-98” tohum çimlenmesi üzerindeki etkilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Deneyler için her bir çeşide ait tohumlar 100’erli gruplar halinde sayılıp, steril petri kapları içinde, iklim kabininde, 12/12 saat aydınlık fotoperiyotta, 22±1˚C’de, dörder tekrarlı olmak üzere ve ağır metallerin 3 farklı konsantrasyonunda 100, 200 ve 300 µM yapılmıştır. Tüm sonuçlar topluca değerlendirildiğinde ağır metaller, incelenen buğday çeşitlerinin tohum çimlenmesi üzerindeki etkilerinin istatiksel bakından önemli olduğu; çinkonun çimlenme üzerindeki etsinin en az, bakırın en yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Buğday genotipleri ağır metallere duyarlık düzeyleri bakımından karşılaştırıldığında; 17 genotip arasında en duyarlı “Kutluk-94” çeşidi olduğu, buna karşın en dayanıklı çeşidin ise “Kunduru-1149” çeşidinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak ağır metallerin buğdayda çimlenmeyi engelleyerek üretim kayıplarına neden olduğu; ağır metal kirliliğine maruz kalmış tarım alanlarında, hem yüksek verim almak, hem de bu alanların fitoremediasyonunda “Kıraç” ve “Kunduru-1149” çeşitlerinin kullanılabileceği saptanmıştır
