The aim of this study is to examine effects of salt stress on some macromorphological parameters during first seedling growth phases of Lycopersicon esculentum tomato and Raphanus sativus radish . While hypocotyle development represented by high values of Raphanus sativus was observed in photoperiod applications and high values of Lycopersicon esculentum in dark applications under salt stress of NaCl, Na2SO4 and Na2CO3 type, root developments of higher value were determined for Lycopersicon esculentum both in photoperiod and dark applications. While lateral root developments represented by much higher values were determined for Raphanus sativus in photoperiod and dark applications under salt stress of NaCl and Na2CO3 type, lateral root developments yielding higher values were observed for Raphanus sativus in Na2SO4-photoperiod applications and for Lycopersicon esculentum in Na2SO4-dark applications. Differences in terms of species were found statistically significant in terms of all series. The variations in hypocotyle and lateral root developments of Lycopersicon esculentum genotypes caused by salt stress of NaCI type under photoperiod conditions were not statistically significant, and there was no statistical value of differences observed at genotype levels for lateral root counts and cotyledon developments under dark conditions at mean hypocotyle lengths in Na2CO3-photoperiod applications. Apart from variations observed in mean hypocotyle lengths of NaCI-dark applied series and mean root lengths of photoperiod and dark applications of Raphanus sativus genotypes, it was also observed that there was no statistical significance of variations in mean cotyledon lengths of photoperiod and dark applications and variations in mean cotyledon widths of Na2CO3-dark combination. The genotype result was the most critical variable factor among other macromorphological parameters
Lycopersicon esculentum domates ve Raphanus sativus turp ’un ilk fide büyüme evrelerindeki bazı makromorfolojik parametreler üzerine tuz stresi etkilerini incelemeyi amaçlayan bu çalışmada, NaCl, NaSO4 ve Na2CO3 tipi tuz stresi altında fotoperyot uygulamalarında Raphanus sativus’ta, karanlık uygulamalarında Lycopersicon ’da daha yüksek değerler ile temsil edilen hipokotil gelişimleri izlenirken, hem fotoperyot hem de karanlık uygulamalarında Lycopersicon esculentum’da daha yüksek değerler veren kök gelişimleri saptandı. NaCl ve NaCOtipi tuz stresi altında fotoperyot ve karanlık uygulamalarında Raphanus sativus’ta çok daha yüksek değerler ile temsil edilen lateral kök gelişimleri belirlenirken, Na2SO4-fotoperyot uygulamalarında Raphanus sativus’ta, NaSO4-karanlık uygulamalarında Lycopersicon esculentum’da daha yüksek değerler veren lateral kök gelişimleri izlendi. Türler düzeyinde izlenen farklılıklar tüm seriler için istatistiksel açıdan anlamlıydı. Fotoperyot şartlarında NaCI tipi tuz stresinin Lycopersicon esculentum genotiplerinin hipokotil ve lateral kök gelişimlerinde yarattığı değişimler istatistiksel anlam oluşturmazken, NaCO-fotoperyot uygulamalarında hipokotil boyu ortalama uzunluklarında, karanlık şartlarda lateral kök sayıları ile kotiledon gelişimlerinde genotipler düzeyinde belirlenen farklılıkların da istatistiksel değeri yoktu. Raphanus sativus genotiplerinin NaCI-karanlık uygulanan serilerinde hipokotil boyu ortalama uzunluklarında, fotoperyot ve karanlık uygulamalarında kök boyu ortalama uzunluklarında saptanan değişimler yanında, Nafotoperyot uygulamalarında kotiledon boyu ortalama uzunluklarında, NaCO2CO-karanlık kombinasyonunda kotiledon eni ortalama uzunluklarında izlenen değişimlerin de istatistiksel anlam taşımadığı görüldü. Diğer makromorfolojik parametrelerde ise genotip sonucu değiştirebilen en kritik faktördü
