In this study, the validity of the Fisher hypothesis, which deals with the relationship between interest and inflation, for Turkey was examined with monthly data between 2003:01 and 2021:09 periods. Firstly, whether the variables examined are linear or not, Harvey and Leybourne (2007) and Harvey et al. (2008) tested with linearity tests. CSR (2006) nonlinear cointegration test was used to test the Fisher hypothesis when the finding that the variables were not linear was obtained. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the Fisher
hypothesis is not valid for Turkey. In this case, it is stated that there is no long-term relationship between interest and inflation in the analyzed period in Turkey.
