Fauna of the Coastal Aegean Raphignathoid Mites (Acari: Prostigmata: Raphignathoidea)

Abstract

In this study, a total of 32 species belonging to the super family Raphignathoidea collected from various habitats of coastal Aegean region were identified. These species were diagnosed and their distribution in the world was emphasized. Between June 2007 and June 2008, 175 samples of soil and litter from terrestrial and semi-aquatic habitats were collected. Various features of the living areas of the places where the samples were taken were also recorded. It is aimed to contribute of the fauna of the rafignatoid mites in our country by evaluating the collected material for one year from this selected coastal area. Many of Raphignathoidea mites as predators, phytophagous, symbionts or as parasites on insects are known with increases the importance of the studies on this group.  It is thought that it will contribute to the future use in the biological struggle against agricultural pests.

Kıyı Ege Rafignatoid Akarların (Acari: Prostigmata: Raphignathoidea) Faunası

Abstract

Bu çalışmada; Kıyı Ege Bölgesinin çeşitli habitatlardan toplanan Raphignathoidea üst familyasına ait toplam 32 tür tespit edilmiştir. Bu türlerin teşhisi yapılıp dünyadaki dağılımları belirtilmiştir. Haziran 2007-Haziran 2008 tarihleri arasında karasal ve yarı sucul habitatlardan 175 adet toprak ve döküntü örnekleri alınmıştır. Örneklerin alındığı yerlerin yaşama alanlarının çeşitli özellikleri de kaydedilmiştir. Araştırma sahası olarak seçilmiş olan bu kıyı bölgemizden bir yıl süreyle toplanan materyalin değerlendirilmesi suretiyle ülkemizdeki rafignatoid akarların faunasının ortaya çıkarılmasına katkıda bulunmak amaçlanmıştır. Rafignatoid akarların büyük bir çoğunluğunun predatör, fitofag, simbiyont olması veya böcekler üzerinde parazit olarak beslenmesi bu grupun üzerindeki çalışmaların önemini arttırmaktadır. İlerde tarım zararlılarına karşı biyolojik mücadelede kullanılmasına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
