The researches on the population developments of <em>Aculops lycopersici </em>(Massee) (Acarina: Eriophyidae) and its natural enemies, the chemical control of the pest in İzmir.

Abstract

The population fluctuation of Tomato russet mite [Aculops lycopersici (Massee) (Acarina:Eriophyidae)] was investigated between 1998-1999 in Bornova and Bergama in tomato fields. A. lycopersici has began to appear at 26.1 and 28.3 ⁰C, when the first green tomato was seen in the field. The population density of A. lycopersici has reached at the highest level when the green tomatoes were abundant. The population density of the pest was increased during the harvest. The pest was found to be dense at the below and middle leaves. Pronematus ubiquitis (Mc Gr ) (Acarina:Tydeidae) was found to be the predator of A. lycopersici. The pesticides were tested according to randomized blocks design 5 characters, 3 replications in 1998 in Urla (Özbek) and 4 characters, 5 replications in 1999 in Urla (Kuşçular). Agrothane 20 EC, Tetrasit V-18, Morestan 25 WP and Sulphure 80 WP were tested. The pest densities were counted 1 day before treatments and 1, 3, 7, 15 and 21 days after treatments at each parcel. The tests were evaluated according to Henderson – Tilton formula. Agrothane 20 EC was found to be effective at the average of 90.99 and 93.91% in 1998 and 1999, respectively. Sulphure 80 WP gave the best result by the effectivenes at the average of 85.84 and 85.36% in 1998 and 1999, respectively during the first fifteen days.

Öz

Domates pas akarının [Aculops lycopersici (Massee) (Acarina: Eriophyidae)] popülasyonu 1998-1999 yıllarında Bornova ve Bergama'daki domates tarlalarında izlenmiştir. Domates pas akarının ilk çıkışları, ortalama sıcaklığın 26.1 ve 28.3 ⁰C olduğu domateslerde yeşil meyvelerin görülmeye başladığı dönemde olmuştur. Zararlı popülasyonunun, domates tarlalarında yeşil meyvelerin çoğalmaya başladığı dönemde artış gösterdiği ve bunun hasat dönemi boyunca devam ettiği saptanmıştır. Zararlı bitkilerin daha çok alt ve ortadaki yapraklarında yoğun halde bulunduğu belirlenmiştir. Pronematus ubiquitis (Mc Gregor) (Acarina:Tydeidae) A. lycopersici'nin predatörü olarak saptanmıştır. Zararlıya karşı etkili ilaçları saptanmak üzere tesadüf blokları deneme desenine göre 1998 yılında Urla (Özbek)'da 5 karakter ve 3 tekerrürlü, 1999 yılında Urla (Kuşçular)'da ise 4 karakter ve 5 tekerrürlü birer deneme açılmıştır. Denemelerde Agrothane 20 EC, Tetrasit V-18, Morestan 25 WP ve Sulphure 80 WP ilaçları kullanılmıştır. Sayımlar, ilaçlamadan 1 gün önce ve 1, 3, 7, 15 ve 21 gün sonra yapılmış ve değerlendirmede Henderson - Tilton formülü kullanılmıştır. 1998 ve 1999 Yıllarında, zararlıya karşı, ilaçlamadan 15 gün sonra Agrothane 20 EC sırasıyla ortalama %90.99 ve 93.91; Sulphure 80 WP'ün ise ortalama %85.84 ve 85.36 oranlarında en iyi etkiyi vermiştir.
