Investigations on the population fluctuations and parasitation of leaf miner (<em>Liriomyza trifolii </em>Burgess).
Abstract
One yellow sticky trap for every 200 m2 of greenhouse over plants to observe the population development of leafminer, in 1991. Traps were checked each week and the number of adults captured were recorded, 25 leaves were collected for larval population estimation. The situation of parasitation were studied in three different greenhouses. The leaves with mine, which are collected from these greenhouses each week, were cultured in the laboratory for parasite emergence. The results showed that the adult population were high during April and May population decreased in June in 1991. The adult population studies in Autumn indicated that adult were observed from October and population were high in November with the peak in mid November, then drop down at the end of December. In these two studies, ıt was observed that larval population development were in April and May studies in Spring and again showed parallel development in Autumn, and declined to zero in December. It was found the parasitoids Chrysonotomyia chlorogaster (Erdos), C.formosa (Westwood), Diglyphus isaea (Walker) (Hym.:Eulophidae) as a results of parasitoids studies. The rate of parasitation were 8-52.5% on tomato and 5-68% on egg-plant 1992.
