Weed species in chickpea in Southeast Anatolian Region and their distribution and densities.
Abstract
This study was carried out to identify some important weeds in chickpea growing areas in Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Mardin and Şanlıurfa provinces where chickpea is one of the most important agricultural crop in 2000. For this aim, a survey was performed in these provinces. According to survey results, 30 species belong to 3 different families in Monocotyledons and 125 species belong to 30 different in Dicotyledons, totally 155 species were identified. 91 species in Adıyaman, 123 species in Diyarbakır, 72 species in Mardin, 68 species in Şanlıurfa were determined. 51 species among them were determined as the most widespread species. According to the provinces, the weed species found more than one in each m² were Avena sterilis, Heliotropium sp, Geranium tuberosum, Convolvulus arvensis and Anagallis arvensis in Adıyaman; Cichorium intybus in Diyarbakır; Cynodon dactylon, C.intybus, Convolvulus galaticus, Galium tricornutum, Euphorbia sp.and Verbascum sp in Mardin; A.sterilis, Euphorbia sp., C.dactylon, C.intybus, Sinapis arvensis, C.arvensis and A.arvensis in Şanlıurfa.
