Determination of problem viruses on the tomatoes cultivation areas in Marmara Region.
Abstract
This study was carried out in 2003 and 2004 Marmara Region (Bursa, Bilecik, Sakarya and Tekirdağ) where tomato growing is prevalent in order to detect Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), Tomato spotted wild virus (TSWV), Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), Potato X virus (PVX), Potato Y virus (PVY) diseases. Samples were tested serolojically (DAS-ELISA) and biologically. As a result of the study the samples were found 5.5%–78.6 TSWV, 9%–68.7 CMV, 1.2%–35.3 ToMV, 7.7%–37.5 PVY and 4.8%–18.1 PVX.
