Seed-borne viruses in wheat seeds used by growers in the Central Anatolia region.

Year 2005, Volume: 45 Issue: 1, 55 - 60, 05.02.2005

Abstract

Wheat seeds collected during 2002-2003 from four different provinces (Ankara, Çorum, Eskişehir and Konya) of the Central Anatolia region in which wheat is widely produced were tested against seed-borne viruses. Seeds of 17 different wheat varieties sown in the region were used. ELISA tests were performed against Barley stripe mosaic hordeivirus (BSMV) and Wheat streak mosaic tritimovirus (WSMV). Three samples were found to be infected with WSMV among 326 seed samples tested. Infected samples were belong to Montchill, Bezostoja and Dağdaş varieties. The results showed that wheat seeds used by growers in the Central Anatolia region transmit WSMV at rate of 0.92 %.

Orta Anadolu bölgesinde tohumluk olarak kullanılan buğday tohumlarında virüs varlığı.

Year 2005, Volume: 45 Issue: 1, 55 - 60, 05.02.2005
