MURAD KAZHLAYEV’İN “PİYANO İÇİN ALTI PRELÜD”ÜNÜN 4, 5 VE 6 NUMARALI PROGRAMLI PRELÜDLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Prelüd formu, 15. yüzyıldan itibaren değişim ve gelişim göstererek günümüze ulaşmış Klasik Batı Müziği formlarından biridir. 20. yüzyılda bu form farklı biçimlerde yorumlanmış ve pek çok özgün örnek ortaya konmuştur. Dağıstanlı besteci Murad Kazhlayev’in (1931–2023) “Piyano için Altı Prelüd” adlı eseri, söz konusu dönemin prelüd anlayışına önemli bir örnek teşkil etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel ve içerik analizi kullanılarak prelüd formu ve programlı müzik bağlamında Kazhlayev’in Prelüdleri incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın amaçları, bir yandan prelüd formu ile programlı müzik üzerine yapılacak çalışmalara katkı sağlamak, diğer yandan ise Kazhlayev’in Prelüdleri’ni Türk piyanistler ve araştırmacılar için daha görünür kılmaktır. Bulgular bölümünde önce bestecinin yaşamı ve prelüd formunun tarihçesi özetlenmiş, ardından müzikte programlılık kavramı kısaca ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra Kazhlayev’in “Piyano için Altı Prelüd”’ünün 4, 5 ve 6 numaralı programlı prelüdleri, form ve müzikal yapı açısından incelenmiştir.

AN ANALYSIS OF PROGRAMMED PRELUDES NO. 4, 5 AND 6 OF MURAD KAZHLAYEV’S “SIX PRELUDES FOR PIANO”

Abstract

The prelude form, which has undergone transformation and development since the 15th century, is one of the genres of Western classical music that has survived to the present day. In the 20th century, this form was interpreted in diverse ways, resulting in numerous original examples. The work “Six Preludes for Piano” by the Dagestani composer Murad Kazhlayev (1931–2023) constitutes a significant example of the concept of prelude in this period. In this study, Kazhlayev’s Preludes are examined within the context of the prelude form and programmed music using descriptive and content analysis, which are among the qualitative research methods. The aims of the research are, on the one hand, to contribute to future studies on the prelude form and programmed music, and, on the other hand, to make Kazhlayev’s Preludes more visible to Turkish pianists and researchers. In the Findings section, the composer’s life and the historical development of the prelude form are first summarized, followed by a brief discussion of the concept of being programmed in music. Subsequently, the programmed Preludes Nos 4, 5 and 6 from Kazhlayev’s “Six Preludes for Piano” were analyzed in terms of form and musical structure.
