HEMŞİRELERİN OPİOİD KULLANIMINA YÖNELİK TUTUMLARI Nurses Attitudes Toward Opioid Using

Year 2019, Volume: 9 Issue: 4, 6 - 14, 27.12.2019

Abstract

ÖZET
Amaç: Opioidler, güçlü analjezik etkilerinden dolayı ağrı yönetiminde kullanılan önemli ilaçlardandır. Bununla
Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan 101 hemşirenin %80’i hastalara opioid tedavisi uygularken tedirgin olduğunu belirtmiştir.
%58’i denetime tabi ilaçlardan olduğundan yasal sorumluluk almamak adına opioidleri hastalara uygulamak
istemediğini belirtmiştir. Hemşirelerin %82’si hastalar opioid ilaç kullanmak istemezse bu konuda
hastaları desteklediklerini belirtmiştir. Hemşirelerin %36,1’i opioid grubu olmayan bazı ilaçları opioid grubu

ABSTRACT
Aim: Opioids are important drugs used in pain management due to their strong analgesic effects. However;
depending on the opiophobia detected in health workers, the use of opioids in the treatment of pain is not
at the desired level. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of its attitudes and approaches on the
treatment of pain with the attitudes and approaches of the nurses in the treatment of pain.
Method: After the approval of the ethical committee, it was aimed to reach all the nurses working at the
Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital during the period of the questionnaire. A total of 300 nurses
volunteered to fill the questionnaire consisting of 31 questions. 101 questionnaires were completed with a
participation rate of 33.6%. SPSS Statistics program was used for data analyses.
Results: 80% of the participants(n=101) stated that they were anxious when giving opioid therapy. Main
reason of this anxiety was the potantial side effects of opioids and risk of addiction 67.6% of participants think
that opioids should only be used in cancer patients. 58% of participants didn’t want to give opioids to avoid
taking legal responsibility. 82% of participants if patients do not want to use opioids, they will support patients
in this regard. 36.1% of participants didn’t know what drugs are opioid.
Conclusion: In this study, it was concluded that there was insufficient information and prejudices about the
use of opioids in nurses. For this reason, we think that the training that will be given to the nurses about the
opioids is necessary and that these trainings should be given regularly.
