Köpeklerde Laparoskopik Ovariektomi

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 6 - 8, 30.06.2021

Abstract

Laparoscopic Overiectomy in Bitchs

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 6 - 8, 30.06.2021

Abstract

Laparoscopy is an endoscopic technique used for diagnosis and treatment in veterinary gynecology. Laparoscopy has started to be used in the field of gynecology in veterinary medicine as well as in human medicine. The laparoscopic surgery technique, which is routinely used in human medicine, has not become widespread enough in veterinary medicine. In recent years, it has been demanded from veterinarians due to the increasing public awareness and the interest of animal owners in pet animals. In veterinary gynecology, laparoscopy is often performed for surgical sterilization methods such as ovariohysterectomy and ovariectomy in dogs. Compared to traditional ovariectomy and ovariohysterectomy, laparoscopic surgery has many advantages such as duration of operation, perioperative stress, and complication rate, shortening the duration of postoperative care. The disadvantages of laparoscopy are expensive equipment, laparoscopic surgery learning time, and the sense of sensation (perception) of the operator is restricted. This review was prepared to provide information on the area of application and techniques of laparoscopy, which in veterinary gynecology is a minimally invasive procedure.
