PERSONNEL SELECTION BY USING AHP BASED TOPSIS METHOD FOR ACCOMMODATION ENTERPRISES
Abstract
Human resource function plays a decisive role in the enterprises success. Human resources play a bigger part in the success of accommodation establishments within the tourism industry because of their labor-intensive and simultaneous production and consumption nature, unlike other establishments. In order for service production to be successful, appropriate people need to be placed in appropriate positions. This stage, which is considered as the selection and placement stage in human resources management, is basically a decision making process. This process is crucial for bringing qualified human resources to enterprises. In this study, the problem of choosing the front office manager of a 5 star accommodation enterprise operating in Antalya is addressed by using multi- criteria decision making methods. The general characteristics required to worked this position has been determined by examining job ads and hotel's managers opinions. The weight of the criteria that were effective in the selection of the front office manager was calculated by using AHP methods for the results of face-to-face interviews. The candidates's information on the job application form and the evaluations of the hotel managers for candidates were taken into account for data processing and the candidates were ranked using the TOPSIS method.
