Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye ve BRICS ülkelerinde turizm gelirleri, finansal gelişme, ticari açıklık ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi 1995-2019 dönemini kapsayan yıllık veriler ele alınarak ve panel veri analizi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarında ise, LR istatistiği ile panel veri modelinin tek yönlü birim etkiler modeli olduğu görülmüştür. Hausman testinde ise, birim etkinin rassal olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Modelin varsayımlarının sınanması sonucunda modelde değişen varyans, birimler arası korelasyon ve otokorelasyon sorunu olduğu görülmüştür. Daha sonra Driscoll ve Kraay tahmincisi ile regresyon modeli tekrar tahminlenmiş ve ekonomik büyüme değişkeni üzerinde ele alınan kredi, ticari açıklık ve turizm gelirlerinin pozitif ve istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The Relationship between Tourism, Financial Development, Trade Openness and Economic Growth in Turkey and BRICS Countries: Panel Data Analysis (1995-2019)

Abstract

In this study, the relationship between tourism revenues, financial development, trade openness, and economic growth in Turkey and BRICS countries was examined by using panel data analysis by considering the annual data covering the period 1995-2019. In the results of the study, it has been seen that the panel data model with LR statistics is a one-way unit effects model. In the Hausman test, it was concluded that the unit effect was random. As a result of testing the assumptions of the model, it was seen that the model had varying variance, correlation between units and autocorrelation problems. Then the regression model was re-estimated with the Driscoll and Krayyestimator and it has been determined that credit, trade openness, and tourism revenues, which were considered on the economic growth variable, had a positive and statistically significant effect.
