Abstract

Coronaviruses are crucial pathogen of human and animal. At the late 2019, a new type of coronavirus was determined as the cause of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, a city in Hubei state of China. Then it got spread quickly that resulted in an epidemic across China, and an increasing number of cases were observed in other countries around the world. Therefore, in February 2020, the World Health Organization identified COVID-19 disease, which means 2019 coronavirus disease. The virus that caused COVID-19 was nameed as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Coronavirus infection spread worldwide, leading pandemics. Its quick spread, lack of treatment and lethal course make the effect of the virüs crucial. Due to pregnant women are more sensible than normal people, high mortality and morbidity increases the clinical importance of this infection. There is limited knowledge about infection for pregnant women, and management is advised like non-pregnant. It may lead to fetal distress and preterm labor in some pregnant. There is no evidence whether it has transmitted from mother to baby. In pregnancy and childbirth management, isolation under suitable conditions, aggressive infection control management, early mechanical ventilation in progressive respiratory problems, oxygen therapy, refraining excess fluid treatment, close fetal and uterine monitoring are crucial. Management of suspected or infected pregnant women should be handled by a multidisciplinary team.

COVİD-19 ve Gebelik
