Abstract

The View of COVID-19 in New Zealand

Year 2020, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 98 - 106, 31.08.2020
https://doi.org/10.34084/bshr.746521

Abstract

COVID-19 is an epidemic disease that occurs in Wuhan, China in December 2019, develops with respiratory symptoms and affects the world. Due to the fact that it affects many countries worldwide and the transmission speed is high, countries have had to take various measures. Taking the right measures is important to combat the disease. At this point, it is important for every country to take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus due to the rapidly spreading coronavirus at the global level.

In this article, general characteristics, epidemiology, incubation period, clinical features, transmission route, basic case reproduction number and fatality rate of coronavirus were investigated. At the same time, action plans, contact tracking with rapid case detection and early warning system implemented by New Zealand, which struggled with COVID-19, were examined.

The aim of this study is to examine the coronavirus in general in the light of current data and literature, to reveal the factors affecting the spread of coronavirus, and to examine how New Zealand copes with coronavirus, what plans it has in this process, and how these plans affect the spread of the disease with cases.
