Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Ebeveyne Bağlanma ve Sınav Kaygıları Arasındaki İlişkide Benlik Saygısı ve Akademik Mükemmeliyetçiliğin Aracı Rolü

Abstract

Üniversitede yaşanan sınav kaygısının çok çeşitli nedenleri bulunabilir. Birçoğu gibi bu sorunun da kökeninin aileye dayandığı düşünülürse mükemmeliyetçilik ve benlik saygısı, incelenmesi gereken kavramlar olarak değerlendirilebilir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 273 kadın (%65) 147 erkek (%35) toplam 420 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubunu oluşturan üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşları 18 ile 34 arasında değişmektedir (x̄= 21.22, SS = 2.11). Korelasyon analizi bulguları, anneye bağlanma ile benlik saygısı, akademik mükemmeliyetçilik ve sınav kaygısı arasında anlamlı ilişkilerin olduğunu göstermektedir. Benzer bir şekilde babaya bağlanma ile benlik saygısı ve akademik mükemmeliyetçilik arasında anlamlı ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Seri çoklu aracılık analizi sonuçlarına göre, anneye ve babaya bağlanma ile sınav kaygısı arasında benlik saygısı ve akademik mükemmeliyetçilik aracı role sahiptir. Anneye ve babaya bağlanmanın benlik saygısı ve akademik mükemmeliyetçilik aracılığıyla sınav kaygısı üzerindeki dolaylı etkileri anlamlı bulunmuştur. Araştırmada elde edilen bulguların, üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşadığı sınav kaygısının belirleyicilerinin tespit edilmesinde önemli katkılar sunduğu düşünülmektedir. Ayrıca araştırma bulgularının, üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşadığı sınav kaygısının azaltılması amacıyla geliştirilebilecek olan psiko-eğitsel müdahalelerde işlevsel olabileceği varsayılmaktadır.

The Mediator Role of Self-Esteem and Academic Perfectionism in The Association between University Students' Parental Attachment and Test Anxiety

Abstract

There can be many reasons for test anxiety experienced at university. Considering that this problem, like many, is based on the family, perfectionism and self-esteem can be considered as concepts that need to be examined. The sample consisted of 273 females 65%) and 147 males (35%), in total 420 university students. The ages of the university students in the study group ranged from 18 to 34 (x̄= 21.22, SD = 2.11). The correlation analysis revealed that there were significant associations between mother attachment and self-esteem, academic perfectionism, and test anxiety. Similarly, attachment to the father was found to be associated with self-esteem and academic perfectionism. Serial multiple mediator analysis showed that self-esteem and academic perfectionism had a mediation role between attachment to mother and father and test anxiety. The indirect effect of attachment to mother and father on test anxiety was found to be significant through the mediator roles of self-esteem and academic perfectionism. It may be concluded that the findings contribute to the exploration of the determinants of test anxiety among university students. Additionally, it was assumed that the findings would be useful in the psycho-educational programs that can be developed to reduce test anxiety.
