ON THE DISCOVERY OF BETEKHTINITE IN THE BULANCAK (GİRESUN, TURKEY) SULPHIDE VEINS

Abstract

The investigated area is situated between villages of Küçükdere and Darıköy about 10 km
south of Bulancak, between Çamkoza and Büyükgüre streams.
Sulphide veins occur in lower basic series and dacitic series rocks of Eastern Pontid
volcanics.
Petrographic study and chemical analyses of the country rocks — despite their hydrothermal
alteration — show that they are mainly of calc-alkaline character. Volcanic activity took place
from Upper (possibly Lower) Cretaceous to Miocene, as indicated by intrusives dated at 25 million
years (Çoğulu, 1970).
The Bulancak Cu-Pb-Zn sulphide veins are the best representatives of their type among the
varied deposits of the Eastern Pontus Ore Province. Data based on a study of more than 2500
primary and secondary fluid inclusions have shown that the inclusions were moderately saline, salinity
varying within the range 13.2 equivalent wt. % NaCl to almost fresh water indicated by a
density change from 0.74 gr/cm3
in the early vein stage to 0.98 gr/cm3
at the end of the base metal
sulphide stage. Homogenization temperatures ranged from ca. 340°C to 80°C (Akıncı, 1974).

BULANCAK'TAKİ SÜLFİT DAMARLARINDA KEŞFEDİLEN BETEKTİNİT MİNERALİ HAKKINDA

Abstract

İnceleme alanı, Bulancak'ın takriben 10 km kadar güneyinde Küçükdere köyü ve Darıköy
ile Çamkoza ve Büyükgüre dereleri arasında yer alır. Sülfit damarları Doğu Karadeniz volkaniklerinin
alt bazik ve dasitik serilerine ait kayaçlarda bulunmaktadır.
Damarların çevre kayaçlarının petrografik incelemesi ve kimyasal analizleri, hidrotermal ayrışmalarına
rağmen, bunların esas itibariyle kalk-alkalin karakterde olduklarını göstermiştir. Volkanizmanın
Üst (muhtemelen Alt) Kretaseden Miyosene kadar devam ettiği 25 milyon yaşındaki
İntruzif kayaçların varlığı ile saptanmıştır (Çoğulu, 1970).
Bulancak'taki Cu-Pb-Zn sülfit damarları Doğu Karadeniz cevher bölgesinde yer alan değişik
tipteki oluşukların en iyi temsilcilerinden biridir. 2500 den fazla sıvı kapantılarının (flüid inclusions)
incelenmesi, cevher yapıcı eriyiklerin orta tuzlulukta olduğunu ve tuzluluk derecesinin % 13.2 NaCI
ün karşılığından tatlı suya (wt % NaCI) kadar değiştiği eriyiklerin yoğunluklarının damar oluşumu
başlangıcında 0.74 gr/cm3
ten, sülfit minerallerinin oluşumunun tamamlandığı son safhada 0.98
gr/cm3
e yükselmesiyle saptanmıştır. Kapanımların homojenleşme (gaz kabarcıklarının eriyik içinde
kaybolması) sıcaklıkları yaklaşık olarak 340°C den 80 °C ye kadar inmiştir (Akıncı, 1974).
