Abstract
The city of Tokat and its surroundings in the central Black Sea region are the important localities which provide various materials revailing the subsurface mining and the mineral processing techniques of the times of B.C. up to the recent. The first locality, having the indicators of early Bronze Age, is the Almus, Tokat region. Nevertheless the age of the prehistoric subsurface mining in the Erbaa-Kozlu region, has been determined by utilizing the C-14 method. This is the only finding pertaining of the Anatolia. These findings are very important discoveries for the History for of the Turkish Mining.

Abstract
Tokat, Orta Karadeniz bölümünde yer alan ve milâttan önceki devirlerden bilinen tarihî dönemlere değin, yeraltı madenciliği ile eski metalürjiyi tanıtan çeşitli materyeller vermiş önemli bir bölgedir. Eski metalürjiye ait ilk Tunç Çağını içeren buluntu yeri Almus ilçesi yöresindedir. Ayrıca Erbaa-Kozlu yöresin deki prehistorik yeraltı madenciliğinin tarihi ise C-14 analizi ile'saptanmış olup, şimdilik Anadolu'ya ait tek buluntudur. Bu örnekler, Türkiye madencilik tarihi için azımsanamayacak önemi büyük buluntulardır.
