Abstract

The period between 1950-1960 is known as the politization of Cyprus problem. Thus, Turkey became a side of this problem with the emergence of it. In addition, the policies of Turkey, Greece and England were different from each other in Cyprus problem. In this study, Turkish newspapers, which were published in 1950-1960 period, had analyzed. Because Turkish media was important to reflect the mood of this period. In this context, the aim of this study is to analyze the masthead, content and publishing policy of newspapers. On the other hand, socio-economic and socio cultural development of Turkish Cypriots were also analyzed utilizing newspapers in this study. 1950-1960 Arasında Yayımlanan Gazeteler ve Kıbrıslı Türkler

Abstract

1950–1960 arası Kıbrıs sorunun siyasallaştığı dönem olarak bilinir. Zira sorunun ortaya çıkışıyla birlikte Türkiye, Kıbrıs’ta taraf olmaya başladı. İngiltere, Yunanistan ve Türkiye Kıbrıs konusundaki politikaları genellikle birbirine zıt olarak oluştu. Bu çalışmada yukarıda döneme ilişkin olarak Kıbrıs’ta çıkarılan Türk gazeteleri ele alınmıştır. Kıbrıs Türk basını dönemin atmosferini yansıtması açısından önemliydi. Gazetelerin haber künyesi, içeriği ve yayın politikası hakkında bilgiler çalışmanın ana gayesini oluşturmaktadır. Diğer taraftan gazetelerden yararlanılarak Kıbrıs Türk halkının içinde bulunduğu sosyo-kültürel ve sosyo-ekonomik yapısı hakkında bilgi verilmeye çalışıldı.
