Pygmalion Etkisinde Yeni Temalar: K.K.T.C. Turizm Sektöründe Bir Nitel İçerik Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, K.K.T.C. Turizm sektörü çalışanlarının Pygmalion etkisine ilişkin algılarını detayları ile ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmanın deseni olgu bilim olarak tasarlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini, K.K.T.C. Turizm sektöründe çalışan ve amaçlı örneklem tekniği ile seçilen yirmi kişi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada bir adet ölçek kullanılmıştır. Bu ölçek, Rao ve Sharma’nın Pygmalion Ölçeğidir. (2016). Çalışmadaki veriler, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmış ve bir nitel araştırma tekniği olan içerik analiz yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın bulguları iki ana ve on dört alt tema ile incelenmiştir. Ana temalar; bireysel beklentiler ile iş ve yönetim ile ilgili beklentilerdir. Bireysel beklentiler ile ilgili alt temalar; dostane ilişkiler, güven duyma, saygı duyma, resmiyet, eleştiri ve övgüdür. Yönetim ve iş ile ilgili alt temalar ise; unvan, maddiyat, örgütsel bağlılık, yetersiz performans, işyeri eğitimi, işyeri ile ilgili şikâyetler, iş planı ve ödül-cezadır. En fazla beklenti duyulan alt temaların; işyeri ile ilgili şikâyetler, eleştiri, unvan ve örgütsel bağlılık; en az beklenti duyulan alt temaların ise yetersiz performans, saygı duyma ve övgü olması çalışma bulgularından bazılarıdır.
