1. Non-Discrimination

The authority to decide which manuscripts will be published rests with the Editorial Board. In evaluating manuscripts, the Editorial Board must act without discrimination based on authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views. Publication decisions are based on the manuscript’s accuracy, validity, scientific significance, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism are also taken into consideration.

2. Confidentiality

The editor and members of the Editorial Board must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisers, and the publisher. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript may not be used by the editor or members of the Editorial Board in their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.

3. Authorship / Ownership of Work

If the editor or any member of the Editorial Board suspects incomplete authorship or the inclusion of individuals who did not make a legitimate contribution to the work (guest or honorary authorship), appropriate action must be taken in accordance with COPE and ICMJE recommendations and guidelines.

4. Conflict of Interest

The editor or members of the Editorial Board must act in accordance with COPE guidelines whenever there is a suspicion of a conflict of interest related to published or unpublished manuscripts.

5. Originality and Plagiarism

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works of the author(s). The use of others’ published or unpublished works or ideas without proper citation (plagiarism) is not acceptable. In cases where plagiarism is identified, the editor or members of the Editorial Board will take appropriate action in line with COPE guidelines, depending on the severity of the plagiarism.

PUBLICATION POLICY OF THE JOURNAL

Manuscripts submitted to the journal through the DergiPark system undergo a preliminary editorial review and internal evaluation conducted by the Editor-in-Chief, editors, and associate editors. At this stage, manuscripts are assessed for compliance with the journal’s aims and scope, publication ethics and principles, adherence to author guidelines, and overall adequacy within the journal’s publication standards.

At the final stage of the preliminary review, the opinion of the relevant Section Editor is obtained. Based on the Section Editor’s detailed evaluation, a decision is made as to whether the manuscript is suitable for external peer review.

The external peer-review process follows the double-blind review principle (anonymous author – anonymous reviewer). Manuscripts are sent to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field. If the reviewers’ evaluations differ, a third reviewer is consulted. The final publication decision is made by the editor.

General Publication Principles

Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously rejected by CAGSBD, must not have undergone peer review elsewhere, must not have been published in any form, and must not be under evaluation by another journal.

Submissions are accepted not only from academics but also from researchers and practitioners.

More than one manuscript by the same author cannot be evaluated simultaneously. Manuscripts submitted in violation of this rule will be directly rejected at the preliminary evaluation stage.

In a single issue, the number of articles authored by individuals affiliated with the same university or institution may not exceed 25% of the total number of published articles. If the calculation results in a decimal number, it is rounded up to the nearest whole number.

Members of the CAGSBD Editorial Board (Editor-in-Chief, editors, associate editors, and section editors) may submit their scholarly work to the journal. In such cases, full editorial responsibility and the peer-review process for the manuscript are conducted impartially and independently by another member of the Editorial Board in accordance with the journal’s evaluation procedures.

The languages of publication are Turkish and English.

All submitted manuscripts must fully comply with the journal’s author guidelines.

Authors must prepare manuscripts submitted for publication in accordance with research and publication ethics. For studies involving data collection from human participants (e.g., surveys, interviews), ethical committee approval must be obtained; this approval must be stated in the manuscript and documented. Permission must also be obtained for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs, or visuals belonging to others, and such permissions must be clearly indicated in the manuscript.

Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s aims, scope, publication policy, or author guidelines; that require extensive revision; or that fail to pass the Section Editor’s evaluation will be directly rejected at the preliminary review stage.

No royalties or publication fees are paid for articles published in the journal.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy

In the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, authors must act in accordance with the ethical principles set forth by COPE. Content generated by AI tools—including text, analyses, images, or other materials—cannot be considered as author contributions. AI technologies may only be used as supportive tools; full responsibility for the scientific content, evaluation, and conclusions of the study rests entirely with the authors. If AI technologies are used, this must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript.
