Author Guidelines
Title of the Manuscript
The title of the manuscript should be written in Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold, centered, and with the initial letters capitalized.
Abstract
The abstract should be written in Times New Roman, 10 pt, justified, and should not exceed 150 words.
Section Headings and Main Text
Section headings should be written in Times New Roman, 11 pt, bold, and in capital letters. The main text should be written in Times New Roman, 11 pt, single-spaced, and justified.
In-Text Formatting
Paragraphs should be justified, and no indentation should be used. Paragraph spacing should be set to 6 pt before and after, and line spacing should be single.
Page margins should be arranged as follows: top margin 3 cm, bottom margin 2 cm, left margin 1.5 cm, right margin 1.5 cm, header 1 cm, and footer 1 cm.
Footnotes throughout the manuscript should be written in Times New Roman, 8 pt.
In-text citations should be arranged in accordance with the citation system adopted by the journal.
Presentation of Tables and Figures
Table titles should be written in 11 pt and centered. The initial letters of the words in the table title should be capitalized, except for conjunctions and prepositions. Intermediate lines should not be used in tables. Tables should be justified by using the “AutoFit to Window” option. The text within tables should be written in 9 pt. The spacing between the table number, table title, table, and table rows should be set to 1 pt. Source information below the table should be written in 8 pt. A one-character space should be left between the last row of the table and the following paragraph.
Figures should be centered on the page. If a figure is too large for the page, it should be adjusted by using the “AutoFit to Window” option, as in tables. Figure numbers and titles should be placed above the figure, centered, and written in 11 pt. Except for proper nouns, only the first letter of the figure title should be capitalized. The figure title should not be written in bold. However, the figure number, such as “Figure 1.” or “Figure 2.”, should be written in bold. Source information below the figure should be written in 8 pt. A one-character space should be left between the figure and the following paragraph.
Research and Publication Ethics Statement
This section should state that the manuscript has been prepared and conducted in accordance with research and publication ethics principles. For studies requiring ethics committee approval, the relevant approval should be clearly stated in this section, including the name of the ethics committee, decision date, and approval number. For studies that do not require ethics committee approval, this should also be stated with an appropriate justification.
The standard statement to be used is as follows:
The entire process of the manuscript was carried out in compliance with the research and publication ethics guidelines of the Celal Bayar University Journal of Science.
Example statement for studies with ethics committee approval:
Ethics committee approval was obtained from [Name of Ethics Committee] with the decision dated [date] and numbered [decision number].
Example statement for studies that do not require ethics committee approval:
Ethics committee approval was not required for this study, as it did not involve human participants, animals, personal data, or any procedure requiring ethical approval.
Author’s Contributions
This section should be completed during the final proofreading stage, after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. The contributions of each author should be clearly and explicitly stated.
Example format:
Name Surname: Drafted and wrote the manuscript, performed the experiment and result analysis.
Name Surname: Assisted in analytical analysis on the structure, supervised the experiment’s progress, result interpretation and helped in manuscript preparation.
Acknowledgement
This section should be completed during the final proofreading stage, after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Authors may acknowledge technical assistance, the provision of special materials, financial support, and the institutional or organizational support under which the study was conducted. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.
References
The reference list should be written in Times New Roman, 9 pt. Paragraph spacing should be set to 0 pt before and after, hanging indent should be 0.5 cm, and line spacing should be single.
References should be listed at the end of the manuscript under the heading “REFERENCES” and numbered in square brackets. The following examples should be followed for reference formatting:
