Abstract

This study evaluated terracotta oil-lamps that
are in the inventory of Konya Koyunoğlu Museum. Eight oil-lamps in museum
collection were scrutinized by be­ing separated five categories. While two of those oil-lamps
belong to Hellenistic Period, other six oil-lamps are dated to Rome Period. The
earliest dated oil-lamp is dated to the midst of III^rd century BC;
the latest dated one is dated to the second half of I^st century AD
and the first half of the II^nd century AD. The figurative and
plantal ornament can be seen on four of the oil-lamps analyzed in the study.
Many of related ornaments were processed on discus. Fruity creeper motif is
observed as a plantal ornament. The motifs of a running baby bear and strug­gle
of the lion and mule are the figurative ornaments. Be­sides, there is a rosette
ornament on the discus of an oil-lamp. Since almost all of those oil-lamps were
granted to the museum by the museum founder by purchasing, we are not informed
on the locations of the oil-lamps. Prob­able atelier estimations have been
carried out by analogy method. We think under these circumstances that espe­cially
the oil-lamps that are in Tea-pot form might be produced in Anatolia. Much as
it is a small group, various types of oil-lamps in Konya Koyunoğlu Museum prove us the museum has a substantial
oil-lamp collection. The related oil-lamps are beneficial in terms of being
understood the oil-lamp variety of the region.

Konya Koyunoğlu Müzesi’nde Bulunan Pişmiş Toprak Kandiller

Abstract

Çalışmada Konya Koyunoğlu Müzesi envanterinde
bulunan pişmiş toprak kandiller değerlendirilmiştir. Müze koleksiyonunda yer
alan sekiz adet kandil beş tipe ayrıla­rak incelenmiştir. Bu kandillerden iki
tanesi Hellenistik Dönem’e ait iken, diğer altı kandil Roma Dönemi’ne tarih­lenmektedir.
Kandillerden en erken tarihli olanı MÖ III. yüz­yılın ortalarına, en geç
tarihli olanı ise MS I. yüzyılın ikin­ci yarısı ile II. yüzyılın ilk yarısına
tarihlenmiştir. Ma­kalede incelenen kandillerin dört tanesi üzerinde figüratif
ve bitkisel bezeme bulunmaktadır. Bu bezemelerin çoğu diskus üzerine
yapılmıştır. Bitkisel bezeme olarak meyveli sarmaşık motifi görülür. Aslan ve
katırın mücadelesi ile ko­şarken betimlenmiş ayı yavrusu motifi figüratif
bezeme­ler olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bunlar dışında bir kandi­lin
diskusunda ise rozet bezemesi vardır. Tamamına yakını müzenin kurucusu
tarafından satın alınarak müzeye ba­ğış­landığı için kandillerin bulunduğu
yerler hakkında bilgi sahibi değiliz. Olası atölye tespitleri analoji
yöntemiyle aşıl­maya çalışılmıştır. Bunun sonucunda özellikle Demlik Form (tea-pot)
tipine ait kandillerin Anadolu üretimli ola­bi­le­ceğini düşünüyoruz. Konya
Koyunoğlu Müzesi pişmiş toprak kandillerinin incelendiği bu makalede, küçük bir
grup da olsa, kandillerin farklı tiplerden oluşması müzenin kandil
koleksiyonunun oldukça zengin olduğunun bir göstergesidir. Değerlendirilen bu
kandiller bölgenin kandil çeşitliliğinin anlaşılması açısından yararlı
olacaktır.
