Abstract

In a recent paper Davies (1) has presented an alternative theory to th e usual linearised theory of unsteady com pressible flow by su- perim posing a small perturbation upon the correct basic irro tatio n al flow pattern. The present paper is concerned w ith a particular example of this theory in which a ro tatin g com pressible fluid is bounded internally by a radialy oscillating circular cylinder.
