Author Guidelines

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically. Authors are required to create an account in the Dergipark system to submit their manuscripts. Click here to register.
  2. Authors are expected to submit their manuscripts in Microsoft Word format.
  3. Manuscripts (main document) must be prepared using the official template of the Çatalhöyük International Journal of Tourism Research. Authors are strongly advised to carefully read the notes and instructions provided within the template. Click [here] to download the template.
  4. Since the main document template has been designed primarily for empirical studies, the main and subheadings may differ in theoretical studies. The journal does not impose a strict policy on this matter.
  5. Authors are required to upload at least four documents related to their submission:
    Main document,
    Title page,
    Copyright form, [here]
Ethics committee approval (for empirical studies).*
  6. Please ensure that no author-identifying information is included in the main document.
  7. The title page must be prepared according to the official title page template. Click [here] to download the template.
  8. The abstract should be between 150 and 200 words. It should briefly describe the purpose, methodology, key findings, and theoretical and practical contributions of the study.
  9. Authors are expected to provide at least 3 and no more than 6 keywords.
  10. Manuscripts, including references and appendices (if any), should be between 6,000 and 9,000 words in length.
  11. In-text citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition style. For detailed information, please visit the APA Style Guidelines.
  12. The reference list must be organized in alphabetical order.
  13. The similarity report will be obtained by the editorial team and added to the submission files; therefore, authors do not need to upload a similarity report to the system.
  14. Submitted manuscripts must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

*If your study is empirical (i.e., based on data collection), it is mandatory to upload the ethics approval document. However, if your study is non-empirical (e.g., theoretical, a review, or conceptual), you must prepare and upload a signed declaration stating that “ethics committee approval is not required” to the system.
