Nutcracker syndrome (NCS) is symptomatic unilateral renal venous hypertension caused by the compression of the left renal vein (LRV) between the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) and the aorta (anterior NCS) or between the aorta and the vertebra (posterior NCS)
