Archiving Policy

Cerasus Journal of Medicine (CJM) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published content. The journal adheres to internationally recognized standards for digital archiving and employs multiple reliable preservation mechanisms to safeguard its scholarly record.

All articles published in CJM are assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which provides each manuscript with a permanent and reliable means of identification. The DOI system ensures consistent citation, facilitates indexing in international databases, and guarantees long-term discoverability. It also secures uninterrupted access to the published work, independent of any changes to the journal’s website structure or hosting environment.

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) Preservation

CJM is hosted on the DergiPark platform, which provides secure and durable digital preservation for all published articles and their associated metadata. Through its robust technical infrastructure, DergiPark maintains the integrity of all article versions—including PDF, XML, and bibliographic records—and ensures continuous access to published content. The system adheres to internationally recognized standards for digital preservation, supporting the journal’s commitment to maintaining a reliable scholarly archive.

In addition to DergiPark’s core preservation capabilities, CJM benefits from the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program, which offers an additional layer of preservation security. LOCKSS operates by distributing authenticated copies of published articles across a network of independent servers, safeguarding the content against data loss, file corruption, or technical failures. CJM’s LOCKSS archive is accessible at the  manifest link: https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/cjm/lockss-manifest

By utilizing LOCKSS, the journal ensures that the original format and content of all publications remain secure and accessible over time, reinforcing the long-term stability of its scientific record.

CJM supports open science practices and permits authors to archive all versions of their work, including the pre-print (submitted version), post-print (accepted manuscript), and the final published PDF. These versions may be deposited in institutional repositories, discipline-specific archives, or personal websites, provided that the published version in CJM is properly cited. This policy aims to enhance the visibility and accessibility of the authors’ work while maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.

Preservation of Metadata and Supplementary Files

All metadata associated with published articles—including abstracts, author details, keywords, references, and DOI information—is preserved permanently. Supplementary materials submitted with articles are archived under the same preservation framework, ensuring that both primary content and supporting files remain accessible and intact over time.

Journal Continuity

Should the journal discontinue publication at any point in the future, all previously published articles will remain accessible through DergiPark’s secure archive and the LOCKSS preservation system. DOI links assigned to each article will continue to resolve to the archived content, ensuring uninterrupted access to the journal’s published material
