İşçi Sınıfı Bilinci Üzerine Güncel Yaklaşımlar

Abstract

‘İşçi sınıfı bilinci’ kavramı son dönemlerde sosyal bilimler araştırmalarının gündeminden düşmüş durumdadır. Bu durum, ‘sınıf’ ve ‘sınıf bilinci’ gibi kavramların toplumsal ilişkileri açıklama gücünü yitirmesinden kaynaklanmamakta, özellikle 1980’lerden sonra tüm dünyada egemen olan ideolojik tercihlerin bir yansıması olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. İşçi sınıfı bilinci, sınıf mücadelesi sonucunda gelişen tutum, algı ve davranışların sınıfsal bir içeriğe kavuşmasını ifade etmektedir. Dolayısıyla, üretim ilişkilerindeki konumlar çerçevesinde şekillenen sınıf çıkarlarının bilincine varmak, sınıf mücadelesi dolayımıyla gerçekleşmektedir. Kaldı ki, işçilerin, sınıfsal mücadele içine girmeden önce, sınıfsal çıkarlarının bilincinde olmaları gerektiği varsayımı sınıf bilinci çalışmalarını belirsiz bir geleceğe ötelememek anlamına gelecektir. Bu çalışmada, literatürdeki işçi sınıfı bilinci kavramı üzerine yürütülen teorik tartışmalar ve alan araştırmaları değerlendirilerek, işçi sınıfı bilincini etkileyen faktörler ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu alan araştırmaları göstermektedir ki, işçi sınıfı bilinci; emek süreci, eğitim durumu, etnisite, toplumsal cinsiyet, köksüzlük gibi faktörlerin etkisi altında gelişmektedir. Kendini bir toplumsal sınıfa ait hissetmek ile başlayan işçi sınıfı bilinci, alternatif eşitlikçi bir toplumsal sistemin oluşturulması için mücadele etmeye doğru gelişim gösteren bir süreçtir. Bu teorik tartışmalar ve alan araştırmaları göstermektedir ki, işçi sınıfı bilinci, sınıf yapısındaki konumların kaçınılmaz değil, olası sonuçlarını ifade etmektedir

Abstract

In the last decades the notion of ‘working class consciousness’ has lost its popularity in social science research. This situation does not originate from the losing explanatory capacity of the terms ‘class’ and ‘class consciousness’ of social relations, but rather especially from the reflection of ideological preferences which have dominated since 1980s. Working class consciousness connotes attitudes, perceptions and behaviors that develop through the process of class struggle. Hence, the comprehension of class interests which are shaped by locations in production relations occurs through the mediation of class struggle. Besides, the assumption that before joining into class actions workers have to be aware fully of their class interests connotes deferring working class consciousness research to a very distant time in future. This study deals with the theoretical discussions and field research in literature and discusses the factors effecting working class consciousness. These field researches demonstrate that the development of working class consciousness is a effected by factors such as labor process, education, ethnicity, gender, uprootedness etc. Working class consciousness is a process develops through identification with a particular social class to struggle for an alternative egalitarian social order. These theoretical discussions and field research demonstrate that working class consciousness is not inevitable rather possible consequences of positions in class structure
