Abstract

The inevitable development of information and communication technologies leads to a new acceleration in the discussions about the roles and the change of trade unions. That development and change provide a new point of view for trade unions to renew their tradiotional structures. In this context, internet and websites which help trade unions to develop new strategies and to reach their current and potantial members are commonly used by trade unions. As appropriate for this fact, in this paper it is basically tried to discuss the situations of trade unions and confederations in this structuring process in Turkey. Firstly, the reactions of trade unions against technology and phases they passed are evaluated. As for in practical dimension of the paper, it is tried to be discovered whether trade unions and confederations use the websites effectively or not as comparatively for the years of 2004-2006 with the analysis of web content
