Abstract

History is not only a history of the men who succeed in policy and military affairs; is also a history of ordinary people that suffer from major political and martial events. This study explores the lives of two non-elite women in Anatolia, one is Muslim, and the other is Greek Orthodox, who had to migrate from the Island of Crete due to the Greek uprising at the end of the 19th Century thanks to the documents in the Ottoman Archives

Abstract

Bu çalışma elit olmayan biri Müslim diğeri Ortodoks iki kadının, 19. yüzyılın sonunda Girit adasında baş gösteren Rum ayaklanması sonucu Anadolu’ya gelişlerini ve göç sonrası yaşamlarını Osmanlı Arşiv belgeleri yardımıyla ele almaktadır
