Genç Yetişkinlerde Akılcı Olmayan Romantik İlişki İnançları Bilişsel Esneklik ve Benliğin Ayrımlaşması İlişkisinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı genç yetişkinlerin akılcı olmayan romantik ilişki inançları, bilişsel esneklik ve benliğin ayrımlaşması arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Bu amaç kapsamında genç yetişkinlik döneminde bulunan 728’I kadın, 411’I erkek, 1139 kişiden veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen gözlemler sırası ile Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyonu, Basit Doğrusal Regresyon Analizi, bağımsız iki örneklem t-testi ve tek yönlü ANOVA ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre akılcı olmayan romantik ilişki inançları, bilişsel esneklik ve benliğin ayrımlaşması arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişkiler mevcuttur. Bunun yanı sıra bağımsız değişkenlerin bağımlı değişkeni anlamlı bir şekilde yordadığı ve toplam varyansın %20’sini açıkladığı görülmektedir. Akılcı olmayan romantik ilişki inançları ve benliğin ayrımlaşması yaş ve cinsiyet değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaşırken, bilişsel esneklik ne yaşa ne de cinsiyete göre anlamlı bir farklılaşma ortaya koymamaktadır. Bulgular genç yetişkinlerdeki benlik ayrımlaşması ve bilişsel esneklik düzeylerinin yükselmesinin romantik ilişkilerde daha az akılcı olmayan inanca sahip olabileceğini göstermektedir. Elde edilen bulgular alanyazın ışığında tartışılmış ve yorumlanmıştır.

The Investigation of Relationship Between Irrational Relationship Beliefs, Cognitive Flexibility and Differentiation of Self in Young Adults

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine relationship between irrational relationship beliefs, cognitive flexibility and differentiation of self. The data were gathered due to this purpose from 1139 young adults consisted of 728 female and 411 male. Collected data were analyzed by Spearman Moments Correlation, Linear Regression, independent two samples t-test and one way ANOVA. Pursuant to results there are statistically significant relations between irrational relationship beliefs, cognitive flexibility and differentiation of self. Besides that, independent variables predict dependent variable significantly, independent variables explain %20 of the variance according to regression results. Irrational relationship beliefs and differentiation of self differ significantly in term of age and gender but cognitive flexibility has no difference in term of age and gender. According to findings, young adults with high-level of differentiation of self and cognitive flexibility may have less irrational beliefs in their romatic relationships. Findings were discussed and interpreted in the light of literature.
