Abstract

The
purpose of the current study was to investigate the science and technology
teachers’ views about FATIH Project. Sub-problems of the study were to
determine positive aspects of the project, the problems teachers faced during
application process, and their opinions of a technology-integrated science and
technology course. The study sample consists of 22 science and technology
teachers employed in different geographical regions in Turkey. Case study, a
qualitative research method, was used to reveal an existing possible
phenomenon. Nine open-ended questions, developed by the researchers and revised
based on expert opinions, were used as the data collection tool. Descriptive
analysis was utilized in data analysis. According to the findings, the
following were concluded: teachers were not adequately trained about FATIH
Project, teachers were not adequately informed in consistence with the purpose
and implementation of the project; technological equipment was not adequate in
their schools, and constant electricity outages in these regions created
problems in using the technologies. Findings showed that teachers were not
adequately informed about the project and they experienced issues in the
implementation. Suggestions towards obtained findings and future studies were
