Abstract
Muallaqat is Arabic poems which have been writen before İslamic
period. This poems are very important in the Arabic Literatures.
Muallaqa is derived from the word "ilq" meaning a precious thing. In
the pre-Islamic age Muallaqat had been read in festivals !ike Uqaz
and hung · on the Ka'ba. Muallaqat poets was İmru'ui-Kays, Tarafe,
Zuheyr, Lebid, Antere, Haris and 'Amr b. Kulsum.
