📢 December 2026 English Special Issue: Mahdī and Messiah Conceptions
- The theme of the December 2026 English Special Issue has been announced as "Mahdī and Messiah Conceptions."
- The Special Issue welcomes original scholarly articles that examine Mahdī and Messiah beliefs in Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and other religious traditions from historical, theological, sectarian, social, political, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
- Original research articles in English are invited from the fields of History of Religions, Qur'anic Studies, Hadith Studies, Kalām, Islamic Law, Sufism, Sociology of Religion, Psychology of Religion, Philosophy of Religion, Comparative Religion, and other related disciplines.
- Manuscript submissions will be accepted for one day only, on 15 July 2026.
- All submissions must be made through the online manuscript submission system in accordance with the Author Guidelines.
📌 Submission Requirements
- For manuscripts submitted in Turkish, both the Turkish and English abstracts must contain 200–250 words, while the extended English abstract must be 750–1000 words in length.
- The extended English abstract must be uploaded together with the manuscript at the time of submission.
- Following acceptance, authors will be required to submit a proofreading certificate confirming that the English text has been reviewed by a qualified specialist (e.g., a researcher who completed graduate studies in an English-medium programme, prepared a graduate thesis in English, or has demonstrated expertise in academic English within the relevant field).
- For manuscripts submitted in English, only Turkish and English abstracts of 200–250 words each are required; an extended English abstract is not required.
- In line with the Journal's commitment to enhancing its international visibility and scholarly impact, priority will be given to original research articles submitted in English.
- Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the updated Manuscript Template (Word).
- In accordance with the double-blind peer-review policy, manuscripts must not contain any information that could reveal the identity of the author(s).
- To ensure consistency in citations and references and compliance with international academic publishing standards, authors are required to use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote when preparing their manuscripts.
📋 Editorial Screening and Peer Review
- All submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial screening before being sent for peer review.
- The editorial screening process will normally be completed within two weeks.
- During this stage, the Editorial Board evaluates:
- compliance with the Journal's submission and formatting requirements;
- the originality of the topic and approach;
- the manuscript's scholarly contribution;
- academic quality; and
- its potential scholarly impact.
- Manuscripts that successfully pass the editorial screening will proceed to the double-blind peer-review process.
- Manuscripts that do not meet the Journal's editorial standards may be rejected by the Editorial Board without being sent for external peer review (desk rejection).
