KARASULARININ GENiŞLiGi, SINIRLANDIRILMASI VE HUKUKi STATÜSÜ

Abstract

The wideness of a territorial sea means how many sea miles the sea band, which is considered the country of a coastal state, can extend from the shore to the open sea. The internationallaw has determined the wideness of a territorial sea at least 3, at most 12 sea miles. The international law has given foreign ships the right of harmless transit passage from territorial seas. In return for this, a coastal state has the authority of judgement on the territorial sea, but warships are exempted from this judgement. Islam has alsa accepted the principle of the freedam of seas that is considered one of the greatest victories.
