PLANING ARABIC AT IMAM HATIP SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Abstract

The subject of Arabic are taught 15 hours per week in preparation year of Imam Hatip secondary schools (IHL), 9 hours in preparation year of Anatolian (Anadolu) Imam Hatip Schools and 4 hours at three fallawing years in a week in both types of schools. The curriculum of this subject was rearranged with a new understanding in the year 1999. This curriculum aims to teach Arabic from a halistic perspective including the aspects of dialogue, grammar, listening, writing as an alternative to the grammar based traditional approach. The changes in the new curriculum naturally affected teachers' planning activities of the subject. Thus, proposing that teachers may need guide in this respect, this article introduces some suggestions and guidelines on how to prepare daily and yearly plans for Arabic taught at Imam Hatip School s.
