Abstract

Metodizm, Protestan .Hıristiyanlıkla ·ilgili .. tarihi bir gruptur. Metodist

hareket temelde John Wesley'in evanjelik öğretiSini takip etmiştir.. Bu

hareket. 18. yüzyılda İngiliz kilisesi içerisinde Wesley kara~şlerinde

bulunduğu bir cemaat olarak başlamıştır. İlk Metodist Kilise i784

yılında Ameril<a'da Francis Asbury tarafından kurulmuştur. Metodist

Kilise çeşitli sebeplerden dolayı yayılmıştır. Metodist .Protestan ·Kilise

(1830),. Güney Metodist Episkopal Kilise (1845), bağımsız metodist

yeniden birleşmedir.
