Abstract

Selef, kelime itibariyle önceden yaşayan, kavram olarak da islamın ilk
dönemlerinde yaşayan, kendilerine göre metotları ve görüşleri olan ilim adamlarıdır.
Daha sonra yaşadığı halde aynı metotları benimseyen ve aynı görüşleri paylaşan
alimiere de selefiyye denmektedir. ilk dönem selef alimlerini diğerlerinden ayırmak
için onlara mütekaddimun selef (ilk dönem selef), diğerlerine de müteahhirun selef ·
denmektedir.
Selef, nasların ·metafizik alemle ilgili olanlarının yorumlanmasını doğru
bulmamaktadır. Akılla bu konularda hüküm koymanın gerçeği karşılamayacağını
savunmaktadır. Ancak dini konuların anlaşılmasında kendi akıllarıyla ilkeler koymaya
devam etmektedirler. Dolayısıyla selef, dini alanda akılla ilk ilke koyucu ve bu ilkelere
uymayanları kınayan olmuşlardır.

The Precedents Selef And Their System Thought

Abstract

The means of Selef as a word is the man who lived in the past, as a term
is the scholar who lived in the earliest islamic century and had their system and
thought. The scholers who have lived after the earliest islamic century and have \he
same system and"thought are colled as selefiyye. Selef who lived in earliest.century
are colled as a precedenı selef to seperate from the anather selef. The anather selef
are colled as latest selef.
Selef have thougtıt to interpret of the verses abaut the meJ.aphysics are not
true. They says that to put law with reasonal. thing in that subject can not fit to the
reality. But they are going on to put prenciples with their opinions. So selef are the
first scholars who put principles with theiı> idea in the religious region and who bl am e
to the nonfolower of that principles.
