Sivas Cumhuriyet University Journal of Engineering Faculty (CUMFAD) is an international scientific journal that adopts the principle of publishing the latest contributions of national and international scientists to the literature. It operates under Sivas Cumhuriyet University Engineering Faculty and aims to publish original scientific research studies of researchers and practitioners from all over the world, proven by analytical, experimental and numerical methods.

Sivas Cumhuriyet University Journal of Engineering Faculty serves as free and open access. All researchers' original research articles, reviews and letters to the editor, which have not been published elsewhere before, are published in our journal. The journal is a scientific and peer-reviewed journal and is published online twice a year, in June and December.

The publication language for all texts to be published in the journal is Turkish and English. Key words are given in alphabetical order. English keywords are written taking this order into consideration.
Care should be taken to use third person in the descriptions of the studies carried out by the author in the article (experimental studies, analyses, etc.).

The similarity report of the submitted candidate publications should be less than 20% in total, and no more than 4% should be cited from a single source. Candidate publications that do not have or have an incomplete Article Submission and Copyright Transfer Form and candidate publications that exceed the similarity ratio limits will not be pre-examined.

Authors who will submit publications to our journal are strongly advised to prepare and upload their publications by taking the CUMFAD_article_template file into consideration. Publications prepared without complying with the article template will be sent back to the author for correction.

Information about different publication formats published in the journal and the points that authors should pay attention to according to article types are as follows:

Research Articles: Turkish Title, English Title, Authors, Addresses, Turkish Abstract, Turkish Keywords, English Abstract, English Keywords, Introduction, Purpose, Materials and Methods, Findings, Discussion and Conclusions, Ethical issues if necessary, Contribution Declaration and Acknowledgments It should contain explanations about References, Figures and Tables. The article must contain sufficient information so that it can be repeated by experts in the field. In such articles, the main text should be between 3500-4000 words and the number of references should not exceed 40.

Reviews: It should include studies that compile and critically interpret old research conducted in the author(s') field of expertise and put forward a new view. Author(s) who propose this type of article must have at least 10 SCI-Expanded articles and at least 5 of them must be in the field in which they are compiling. Reviews should include Turkish Title, English Title, Authors, Addresses, Turkish Abstract, Turkish Keywords, English Abstract, English Keywords, Introduction, Main Sections, Subsections, Conclusion, Contribution and Acknowledgments, References, explanations about Figures and Tables. The main text is a maximum of 5000 words and there is no restriction on the number of references. Such studies should present an extensive discussion of the literature and the number of sources should be at least 40.

Letter to the Editor: The articles of those who want to ask questions or express their opinions about the articles published in the journal or other related issues are evaluated in this type. In such articles, scope and ethical concepts are taken into consideration. The main text should be a maximum of 1000 words and the number of references should not exceed 10.

In accordance with the publication rules of Sivas Cumhuriyet University Journal of Engineering Faculty, in studies that require Ethics Committee Permission/legal/special permission, the statement indicating where, in what scope, on which date and issue number the Ethics Committee Permission was obtained must be stated in the article when submitting the article to the Journal.

If it is determined that the author(s) of the article have used falsified and fabricated data, this situation will be reported to the institution where the authors work and the article will be rejected. The upper limit of the plagiarism rate is set as 20% (except for References) and articles with a plagiarism rate exceeding 20% will not be evaluated. For similarity rate, the full text of your article, including the references section, should be scanned with the iThenticate program.

Authors must fill out the copyright transfer form for articles submitted to our journal.

Sivas Cumhuriyet University Journal of Engineering Faculty (CUMFAD) has published this guide in order for the publishers, chief editors, editors, referees and authors to act in accordance with both ethical rules and behaviors and scientific values and principles, with an awareness of scientific and academic responsibility. This guide is based on its general principles and the "Journal Editors' Practice Guide" published by the International Ethical Principles and Publication Policy Publication Ethics Committee in 2011. (Committee on Publication Ethics, 2011).

The Editor-in-Chief and members of the editorial board cannot share any information about a submitted article with anyone other than the relevant author, referees, potential referees, language editors, layout editor and other editorial consultants.

The Editor-in-Chief and members of the editorial board may not use unpublished materials provided in a submitted work for their own research without the express written permission of the author. The editor-in-chief assigns another member of the editorial board to carry out the preliminary review and evaluation stages of the publication in cases where the editors have conflicts of interest arising from collaboration or connections with any of the author/s, company/s or institution(s).

The editor-in-chief, together with the publisher, examines any behavior reported to be contrary to publication ethics, regardless of the date of publication. In case an unethical situation is detected according to COPE procedures, it is responsible for publishing a notification stating that there is an error, inconsistency or misdirection regarding the relevant publication.

The evaluation process in Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Engineering Journal is carried out on the principle of double-blind refereeing. Reviewers do not contact authors directly. Evaluation forms and referee reports are sent to the author(s) through the journal management system, thanks to the editor. Peer review helps improve the article through communication between the author and the editor and helps the editor make decisions about the work.

All authors mentioned in the article must have contributed significantly to the research. The author responsible for the correspondence that sends the article to the journal ensures that all contributing co-authors are included and that people who do not contribute are not included in the author list. Authors cannot be added or removed during or after the evaluation phase of the article.

This journal provides open access to its content based on the principle of making research freely available to the public, supporting a greater global exchange of knowledge.
It provides free access from the journal's website (https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/cumfad) and allows free download of its content. Both anonymous and registered users can read and/or download articles (CC BY-NC-4.0).

The publisher is committed to providing open access to the journal. It does not charge any material or moral fee for the application and evaluation process of the articles.
