Sivas Cumhuriyet University Journal of the Faculty of Engineering (CUMFAD) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Faculty of Engineering of Sivas Cumhuriyet University. It is published twice a year, in June and December (e-ISSN: 3023-7203).
Aim. The journal aims to disseminate original, high-quality scientific contributions in engineering and applied sciences to the national and international literature, and to support the open and free exchange of scientific knowledge.
Scope. The journal publishes original research and review articles in fields including, but not limited to, computer, electrical–electronics, mechanical, civil and industrial engineering, materials science, energy systems, manufacturing technologies and artificial-intelligence applications. Research articles must present original theoretical, computational, experimental or applied findings with sufficient methodological detail to ensure reproducibility. Review articles must offer a critical synthesis of the literature with original tables/figures and a dedicated analytical discussion, beyond a conventional summary.
Peer review. All submissions first undergo editorial and similarity screening, then a double-blind review by at least two independent referees from institutions different from the authors'. The editor-in-chief makes the final decision.
Publication ethics. The journal adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the ICMJE recommendations. For studies requiring it, ethics committee approval must be obtained and its number stated in the Methods section; studies involving humans must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki. Authors must declare conflicts of interest, author contributions, and any funding/support. The use of generative AI tools must be disclosed; such tools cannot be listed as authors.
Similarity check. Every manuscript is screened with iThenticate/Turnitin; submissions exceeding the journal's acceptable similarity threshold are returned to the authors.
Open access & copyright. The journal is fully open access; no submission, processing or publication fee (APC) is charged. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, and authors retain copyright.
Archiving, corrections and complaints. Published content is preserved through DergiPark's digital archiving. Corrections, errata and retractions are handled in line with COPE flowcharts, and appeals/complaints may be addressed to the editorial board.
