Oropharyngeal Manipulation Associated with Unilateral Hypoglossal Nerve Palsy

Year 2012, Volume: 37 Issue: 2, 107 - 111, 01.06.2012

Abstract

Perioperative hypoglossal nerve palsy is a rare postoperative complication. We present a case of transient unilateral hypoglossal nerve palsy after vocal cord polypectomy. The cause of the hypoglossal nerve palsy in our patient was assumed to be a complication of oropharyngeal manipulation during orotracheal intubation for general anesthesia.

Orofaringeal Manuplasyona Bağlı Unilateral Hipoglossal Sinir Paralizisi

Year 2012, Volume: 37 Issue: 2, 107 - 111, 01.06.2012

Abstract

Perioperatif hipoglossal sinir felci operasyon sonrası ender komplikasyonlardan biridir. Biz vokal kord polipektomisi sonrası ortaya çıkan geçici unilateral hipoglossal sinir felci olan bir olgu sunuyoruz. Olgumuzdaki hipoglossal sinir felci, orotrekeal entübasyon sırasında orofaringeal girişimin bir komplikasyonu olarak kabul edildi.
