Abstract

Amaç: Obez bireylerin kilolarıyla ilgili olumsuz durumlarla baş etmek için kullandıkları yöntemleri belirlemek amacıyla geliştirilen Baş Etme Yanıtları Envanteri Kısa Formunun (BYEKF) geçerlilik ve güvenilirliğinin test edilmesidir.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma metodolojik tiptedir. Bir eğitim ve araştırma hastanesinin endokrinoloji ve metabolizma hastalıkları polikliniğinde yürütülen araştırmaya 187 fazla kilolu/obez birey ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler Katılımcı Bilgi Formu ve “Baş Etme Yanıtları Envanteri Kısa Formu (BYEKF)” ile toplanmıştır.
Bulgular: Bireylerin yaş ortalaması 46,35±15,16 olup %59,9’u kadındır. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin testi (0,83) ve Barlett’s testi sonucuna göre örneklem faktör analizi için yeterlidir. Açıklayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda, BYEKF özdeğeri 1’in üzerinde olan, toplam varyansın %64,43’ünü açıklayan 10 madde, iki alt boyutta (Yeniden Değerlendirme ve Geri Çekilme) toplanmıştır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizine göre uyum iyiliği indeksleri RMSEA=,077), CFI=,96, NFI=,94 olup, açıklayıcı faktör analizi ile elde edilen model doğrulanmıştır. BYEKF güçlü iç tutarlılık (Cronbach’s Alpha 0,87) ve test tekrar test güvenirliği (0,76) göstermiştir.
Sonuç: Baş Etme Yanıtları Envanteri Kısa Formu, ağırlık damgalaması ile bireylerin baş etme durumunun değerlendirilmesinde multidisipliner ekip üyeleri tarafından kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir araçtır.

Turkish validity and reliability of the Brief Coping Responses Inventory

Abstract

Purpose: The aim is to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish form of Brief Coping Responses Inventory developed to determine the methods used by obese individuals to deal with their weight-related negative situations.
Materials and Methods: The research is methodological. 187 overweight / obese individuals participated in the study conducted in the endocrinology and metabolic diseases outpatient clinic of a training and research hospital. The data were collected with the Information Form and the "Brief Coping Responses Inventory (Brief CRI) Turkish form".
Results: The average age of individuals is 46.35 ± 15.16 and 59.9% are women. According to the results of Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test (0.83) and Barlett's test, sampling is sufficient for factor analysis. According to the explaratory factor analysis, two factors (Reassessment and Withdrawal), which have an eigenvalue above 1 were determined and which explain 64.43% of the total variance. Goodness of fit indices are RMSEA =, 077, CFI =, 96, NFI =, 94 in confirmatory factor analysis. The model obtained by explanatory factor analysis was confirmed. Brief CRI has shown strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s Alpha 0.87) and test-retest reliability (0.76)..
Conclusion: Brief Coping Responses Inventory Turkish form is a valid and reliable tool that for assessing individuals' coping status with weight stigma can be used by multidisciplinary team members.
