Endometriozis tanısı almış infertil hastalarda D vitamin düzeyinin değerlendirilmesi

Year 2020, Volume: 45 Issue: 4, 1672 - 1678, 27.12.2020

Abstract

Evaluation of vitamin D levels in infertile patients diagnosed with endometriosis

Year 2020, Volume: 45 Issue: 4, 1672 - 1678, 27.12.2020

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between endometriosis and vitamin D level in infertility patients with endometriosis.
Materials and Methods: The study group consisted of infertile patients with endometriosis, while the control group consisted of infertile patients with causes other than endometriosis. Only patients diagnosed with histopathological endometriosis were considered in the study group. The sociodemographic, clinical features and laboratory values of the patients such as age, body mass index, duration of infertility, first menstrual age, smoking history, infertility factor, gestational history and anti-mullerian hormone levels were obtained from unit records.
Results: Totally 100 patients were included in the study. When vitamin D levels were compared in the study and control groups, respectively; 12.0 ± 8.6 ng / mL versus 14.7 ± 10.6 ng / mL, and AMH levels were compared, respectively; It was determined as 2.0 ± 1.8 ng / mL versus 2.6 ± 2.3 ng / mL. In the sub-analysis of the groups, only the difference in vitamin D levels of patients aged 15-25 (5.8 ± 2.4 ng / mL versus 15.0 ± 8.5 ng / mL) was significantly different.
Conclusion: Using vitamin D supplements in young women with endometriosis who have vitamin D deficiency could be beneficial.
