Yorum: COVID-19 enfeksiyonu geçiren bireylerde altı ay içinde görülen ruhsal bozukluklar

Abstract

Poyraz ve arkadaşları tarafından Çukurova Tıp Dergisi'nde yayınlanan “Six-month psychiatric outcomes among survivors of COVID-19” başlıklı makaleyi ilgiyle okuduk. Bu çalışma, anksiyete, depresyon ve uyku bozukluklarının zaman içinde düzeldiğini, ancak şiddetli hastalıkta semptomların devam ettiğini göstermiştir. COVID-19 vücuttaki tüm organları etkileyebilir. Bu nedenle erken tanı ve tedavi ile bu süreçler önlenebilir. Sigara kronik hastalıklara neden olabilir. Ayrıca sigara, anksiyete ve depresyonun en önemli tetikleyicilerinden biridir. Çalışmada sigara kullanımı ile ilgili herhangi bir bilgiye rastlanmamıştır. Obezite uyku bozukluklarına neden olabilir. Hastaların vücut kitle endeksleri kontrol edildi mi?

Comment on: Psychiatric outcomes among survivors of COVID-19

Abstract

We read with interest the article titled “Six-month psychiatric outcomes among survivors of COVID-19” published in Cukurova Medical Journal by Poyraz et al.. This study showed that anxiety, depression and sleep disorders improved over time, but symptoms continued in severe disease. COVID-19 can affect all organs in the body. Therefore, these processes can be prevented with early diagnosis and treatment. Smoking can couse chronic diseases. Additionally, smoking is one of the most important triggers of anxiety and depression. No information about smoking was found in the study. Obesity can couse sleep disorders. Were the patients body mass indexes checked?
