Abstract

Bu yazıda, "Multipl sklerozda uzun dönem yeti yitimi: 20 yıllık uzunlamasına bir çalışma" yayını hakkındaki fikirlerimi paylaşmak ve multipl skleroz (MS) tanısı alan hastalardaki sakatlığı bir fiziyatristin bakış açısıyla değerlendirmek istiyorum. Bu çalışmada, MS hastalarında başlangıçtaki Genişletilmiş Engellilik Durum Ölçeği (EDSS) skorunun yüksek olmasının, ilk atak sonrasında tam iyileşmenin sağlanamamasının ve ataklar arasındaki sürenin daha uzun olmasının, uzun dönem sakatlığın öngörülmesinde fikir verebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract

In this article, I would like to share my ideas about the publication "Long-term disability in multiple sclerosis: a longitudinal study over 20 years" and evaluate the disability in patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) from a physiatrist's perspective. In the current study, it was concluded that a high initial Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) score in MS patients, lack of full recovery after the first attack, and a longer period between attacks may provide insight into predicting long-term disability.
