Matematik İnanç Ölçeği’nin Türkçe’ye Uyarlama Çalışması

Abstract

Purpose of this study is to examine the reliability and validity of the Turkish adaptation of Mathematical Belief Instrument MBI that was developed by Peterson Fennema Carpenter and Loef 1989 This instrument was adapted to Turkish in order to determine elementary preservice teachers’ mathematical beliefs Data gathered from 301 elementary preservice teachers were used for Exploratory Factor Analysis EFA and Confirmatory Factor Analysis CFA to determine the structure of factor loading The number of the factors in original instrument did not remain and the factor loading among sub scales were different The Cronbach alpha coefficient for the overall instrument was found as 0 82 The Cronbach alpha coefficients for the sub scales were calculated as 0 82 0 78 0 75 and 0 73 respectively For the test re test reliability Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated as r= 0 732 and p=0 001 The adapted instrument includes 34 items placed on a 5 point likert type scale The results of the EFA and CFA showed that the instrument is valid and reliable to use in Turkish culture Key Words: Belief mathematical beliefs instrument elementary preservice teacher

Abstract

Bu araştırmada Peterson Fennema Carpenter ve Loef 1989 tarafından geliştirilen Matematik İnanç Ölçeği’ni Türkçe’ye uyarlayarak sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının bu konuya yönelik inançlarını belirlemek için bir ölçme aracı elde etmeyi amaçlamıştır 301 sınıf öğretmeni adayına uygulanarak toplanan verilere Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi AFA ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi DFA yapılmıştır Elde edilen bulgular ölçeğin özgün formunda yer alan bütün maddelerin Türkçe’ye uyarlanan halinde yer alamayacağını göstermektedir Uyarlanan ölçek maddelerinin faktör boyutunda dağılımları özgün hali ile karşılaştırıldığında farklılık olduğu tespit edilmiştir AFA’dan elde edilen bulgular uyarlanan ölçeğin 4 faktöreden oluştuğunu ve faktör yapısının kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğunu göstermektedir Güvenirlik çalışması kapsamında iç tutarlık katsayısı 0 82 olarak hesaplanmıştır Alt faktörler için iç tutarlılık katsayısı sırasıyla 0 82 0 78 0 75 ve 0 73 olarak hesaplanmıştır Test–tekrar test güvenirlik çalışması için hesaplanan Pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyon katsayısının r= 0 736 ve p=0 001 düzeyinde anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir DFA’dan elde edilen bulgular AFA’da oluşan yapının kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğunu göstermiştir Uyarlanan ölçek 34 maddeden oluşmaktadır ve 5’li likert tipindedir Ölçek Türk kültüründe kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir araçtır Anahtar Sözcükler: İnanç matematik inanç ölçeği sınıf öğretmeni adayı
