The Çukurova University Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed academic and scientific journal that follows a double-blind peer review process.

Manuscripts submitted through the journal's online submission system undergo an initial editorial screening by the Editor-in-Chief within two weeks of submission. During this preliminary evaluation, manuscripts are assessed according to the following criteria:

• Compliance with the journal's aims and scope
• Scientific quality and originality of the content
• Adherence to the journal's author guidelines and the APA 7th edition style
• Quality and appropriateness of the language of publication
• Accuracy and consistency of citations and references

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are rejected by the Editor-in-Chief. Those that satisfy the preliminary requirements proceed to the editorial review process conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Associate Editor.

All manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial screening are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process by at least two independent reviewers appointed by the Editor-in-Chief or the Associate Editor.

Invited reviewers are expected to accept or decline the review invitation within two weeks. If a reviewer does not respond within the specified period or declines the invitation, another qualified reviewer is appointed by the editors.

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript using the journal's standardized review form. Their reports provide guidance to the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned Associate Editor during the editorial decision-making process. However, the final decision regarding publication rests solely with the editors.

Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

• Accept
• Minor Revision
• Major Revision
• Reject

If reviewers' recommendations differ substantially or if deemed necessary by the editors, a third or fourth reviewer may be invited. In such cases, the same double-blind review procedure is followed.

Upon completion of the peer review process, the editors carefully examine the reviewers' reports and recommendations within two weeks. The final editorial decision is made after considering all reviewer comments and recommendations, and the corresponding author is notified of the decision.
