Türkmen Türkçesi Ek-fiil i- Ek-Fiili -DIr Bildirme Eki –ka/-kä Zarf-Fiil Eki -(i-)dIK Yapısı
Some
of the morphemes and its conjugations, that are used as copulative verb in
Turkmen Turkish, are different from Turkey Turkish. In Turkmen Turkish, i-
(idi, imiş) and –DIr suffixes are used as copulative verb. In addition to
these, the word “eken” or “ekeni” is
used as a second type in the learned past tense conjugation of the copulative
verb. Additionally, the gerund suffix -ka/-kä is located as one of copulative
verb suffixes in the Turkmen grammars. In this dialect, the gerund suffix
-ka/-kä is conjugated with possessive origin personal suffixes. In Turkmen
Turkish, unlike Turkey Turkish, the copula suffix -DIr is used in all persons
in the present time conjugation of the copulative verb. The conditional
conjugation of copulative verb is not included in Turkmen grammars. Because in
this dialect, this conjugaiton of nouns and conditional compound conjugation is
expressed not in the morphological in which the copulative verb i- is used, but
in the syntactical in which the auxiliary verb bol- is used. In this dialect,
the copulative verbs are also used in functions not used in Turkey Turkish. Firstly,
the copulative verb i- is also used in -(i-)dIK structure, after nouns or
temporary nouns with adjective verb suffix -dIK, in the formulation of nouns or temporary nouns
+ -(i-)dIK adjective-verb suffix. This structure is archaic for Turkey Turkish
and it is used as “idük” only in Old Anatolian and early Ottoman Turkish
manuscripts. Secondly, the copula suffix –DIr is also used in Turkmen Turkish in
the function “and” conjunction.
