Using of Urea and Ammonia as Upper Fertilizer in Cereals in The Arid Lands Which are Dominant of Smectite and Vermiculite
Abstract
In this study, it is studied to provide the nitrogen requirement of the cereals with fixed nitrogen in soils as ammonium in arid period with making the fixation of nitrogen by 2:1 clay minerals which is given as the form of ammonium in the earlier stage. As a result of analyses, the highest nitrogen contents in wheat stems were reached at the plants that were growth in the areas which were fertilized with urea. Besides, the highest values were determined at the thousand grain weight in the fields which were used ammonia sulfate, and the lowest values were determined in the fields which were used ammonia nitrate. Consequently, it was observed that applying the nitrogen fertilizers to soils at one time in the earlier stage with the form of urea or ammonia is more efficient than giving in the late stage, and it was seen that this circumstance will be beneficial for nitrogen loses due to the aridness in the late stage.
